I’ve written often about the mountains and valleys in the life of a Christian. I’m currently going through a valley as I await another major surgery on May 20th. Monday I will meet with my oncologist to discuss his prognosis. I am facing a storm of activity and risk, but I know my Lord will once again be with me every inch of the way. At times like this the 23rd Psalm gives me peace and the words of a YouTube song by Lynda Randall give me encouragement.
“You talk of faith when you’re up on the mountain. Talk comes so easy when life’s at its best. But down in the valley with trials and temptations, that’s when your faith is really put to the test. But the God on the mountain is still God in the valley. When things go wrong, He’ll make them right and the God of the good times is still God in the bad times. The God of the day is still God in the night.”
